Swimming on Tuesday Morning!

Hi all,

Every Tuesday for this half term we will be going swimming.
Just a quick update of the things the children will need to bring with them.
ALL children must have a swimming hat.
ALL children will need a towel.
Boys will need to bring suitable swimming trunks – not shorts
Girls will need a one piece swimsuit
No goggles will be needed.
Please bare in mind that the children’s outfits will be wet after swimming so please provide a suitable bag to carry their swimming equipment in.

Any queries please check the parent mail previously sent out about swimming and the equipment needed.

Thank you
Mr L

TLCs

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update regarding TLCs. Children will need to bring their MyMaths Login as there will be devices set up in the hall for children to login in and play games on, look at tasks etc.

Blyton class have all wrote their login’s into their reading records!

Thanks

Key Skills

Hi everyone,

My sincere apologies, due to a different teacher being with the children on Friday afternoon, the Key Skills books were not handed out. Below is a copy of the Key Skills for this week and I will ensure that they are handed out on Monday morning for the children to complete.

My apologies again

Please remember that reading and spelling practice must happen every week and that ‘little and often’ will help these facts go into your long term memory. Key skills must be handed in every Wednesday. Dojos will be awarded every week for completed key skills.

      1. Read every day and record in your reading diaries.
      2. Complete the four in a row activities.
      3. Practice your times tables using ‘Tables Master’ or ‘Hit the button’ and record your scores in your own table within your Key Skills. Remember we are looking for at least 2 tries on at least 4 days.
      4. Practice your spelling from the list below. Remember we expect you to learn the spellings from the All section, if you would like an extra challenge you can learn from the Most and Some column.

Change of PE days

Hi all,

Just a quick message to inform all parents that Year 3’s PE days have changed.

The new PE days for the term are:

Monday and Thursday.

Monday PE lessons will be on Dance so indoor kit is required and with the weather turning and PE still being outside on a Thursday, it is vital that your children have a jumper or hoodie and tracksuit bottoms to keep themselves warm.

Enjoy your weekend.

Below is a copy of the Key Skills work for over half term:

Friday 20th October 2017

Please remember that reading and spelling practice must happen every week and that ‘little and often’ will help these facts go into your long term memory. Key skills must be handed in every Wednesday. Dojos will be awarded every week for completed key skills.

    1. Read every day and record in your reading diaries.
    2. Practice your 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables over the half term and record them in your Key Skills books.
    3. Over the holidays, you need to revisit and practice all of the spellings we have learnt in your Key Skills books. Please refer to the handout from TLC’s for a variety of learning styles.
    4. On your classes blogs (http://simondesenlisblogs.org/) leave a comment on your favourite fact you learnt from our Invaders and Settlers topic we have been learning about.

Well done Year 3!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a big well done to all of year 3 for making it through the first half term. I can see how hard you have been working and I know how intense it can be beginning a new year, in a new class, with a new teacher. So well done for making it through.

Enjoy your break, you have most certainly earned it.
