Key Skills over Half Term

Below is a copy of the Key Skills work for over half term:

Friday 20th October 2017

Please remember that reading and spelling practice must happen every week and that ‘little and often’ will help these facts go into your long term memory. Key skills must be handed in every Wednesday. Dojos will be awarded every week for completed key skills.

    1. Read every day and record in your reading diaries.
    2. Practice your 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables over the half term and record them in your Key Skills books.
    3. Over the holidays, you need to revisit and practice all of the spellings we have learnt in your Key Skills books. Please refer to the handout from TLC’s for a variety of learning styles.
    4. On your classes blogs (http://simondesenlisblogs.org/) leave a comment on your favourite fact you learnt from our Invaders and Settlers topic we have been learning about.

Well done Year 3!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say a big well done to all of year 3 for making it through the first half term. I can see how hard you have been working and I know how intense it can be beginning a new year, in a new class, with a new teacher. So well done for making it through.

Enjoy your break, you have most certainly earned it.

Harvest Assembly

Well done Year 3!

What a fantastic performance for your Harvest Assembly.

There were so many smiling faces, loud voices, fantastic singing and oozing confidence!

I am so proud of all of the hard work you all put in to rehearsing and performing and I am sure all of the adults that came to watch are just as proud.

Enjoy your weekend, you have certainly earned it and I look forward to seeing you on Monday morning.

Ordering numbers

This week in maths we looked at ordering a set of numbers and how we could quickly recognise where numbers should go.

It was fantastic to see all of the children working really well as a group to sort the numbers out quickly, so well done Blyton Class!
